The project undertaken by the government’s ICT department titled ‘Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy’ (IDEA) in cooperation with the largest youth platform in the country, Young Bangla, has started a new programme for the young people who are keen to undertake startup projects and become entrepreneurs. This was inaugurated on March 8 at the ICT Tower’s central coordination workshop by Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT.
In its continuation, to find out the entrepreneurs and startups there was a two day workshop organized at Fareast International University (FIU) on April 4 and 6. Dhaka University, Canadian International University, Sonargaon University, Independent University Bangladesh and Daffodil International University also participated in the workshop.
The main purpose of IDEA project is to give support to the enterprising youth of the country. The youth are given support in terms of advice, finance, and office and so on for their startups. Project IDEA is working to ensure that no great idea or startup gets ruined because of financial crisis and lack of technical support.
Project IDEA plans to hold at least two such ‘Student to Startup’ workshops each year. A number of teams from FIU took part in the project.
