A victim at Gurudaspur in Natore has held a press conference demanding the arrest of those involved poisoning fish in his pond, which was worth Tk 16 lakh.
Ali Hasan, son of Musharraf, the owner of the pond, read out a written statement at the press conference at the Gurudaspur Model Press Club office on Tuesday morning.
Ali Hasan complained at the press conference that 49 years ago, Mojahid Islam of Paschim Naopara village in Chapila Union of the upazila registered 12 bighas of land in the name of his parents by making fake documents. Now, Mojahid is harassing Musharraf by claiming those 12 bighas of land, which is currently a pond.
Recently, on the night of July 23, some miscreants poisoned fish worth taka 16 lakh in that pond. Musharaf’s family has filed a complaint at Gurudaspur Police Station against 10 people including Mujahid.
Although 5 days have passed since the incident, there is no progress in the case. The accused are still not arrested. There are also several cases of fraud in the land registry against them.
The accused Mujahideen claimed that their documents were correct. They have also filed a counter case in the court as a case was filed against them in the police station on the issue of fake documents.
