Brigadier General Md. Sajjad Hossain, Director General of Fire Service and Civil Defense Department, called upon all the officers and employees of the department to perform their duties with honesty and sincerity.
He made this remark while addressing the annual Darbar function of the department at the Fire Service Headquarters on Tuesday morning. Directors of the department, project directors, managing directors of welfare trusts and officials of various ranks were present at the 1-hour and 20-minute long Darbar held maintaining social distance.
He said the purpose of the Darbar was to show where the organization was, where it is now and where it has a target to go. He said an initiative has been taken to set up Bangabandhu Fire Academy to create modern and advanced training facilities for all in the department and 102 acres of land is being acquired at Gazaria in Munshiganj for this purpose.
He also mentioned other development ideas including initiatives to streamline the manpower structure of the organization at the time.
Meanwhile, expressing deep satisfaction over the corona situation in the department, the Director General said that 285 fire service officers and employees were affected by Corona but no one was killed due to taking timely measures.
