Rajshahi-1 constituency film actress Mahiya Mahi has been fined for violating the electoral code of conduct while conducting her election campaign at Tanore upazila in Rajshahi district on Sunday night.

Md Bilal Hossen said Magistrate Abida Sifat fined Mahi Tk 1,000 after she was found guilty of exceeding the permitted limit of loudspeakers during the election campaign.
‘Mahi used seven loud speakers while campaining at Gollapara bazar in the upazila, but the electoral code of conduct allows use of only three speakers during campaign’, Bilal Hossen added.
She violated Section 18 (1) of the Jatiya Sangsad Electoral Code of Conduct, the ARO added.
