Field Day held in Madaripur

A Field Day programme and display of BRRI-92 and BRRI-29 paddy and harvesting were held in Chhilarchar area under Sadar Upazila of Madaripur on Friday.

The programme was held in association with International Fertilizer Development Center, Department of Agricultural Extension and initiated by Feed the Future Bangladesh Climate Smart Agriculture Activity.

Madaripur District Department of Agricultural Extension Dr Santosh Chandra Chanda spoke as the chief guest at the programme. Deputy Chief of Party of International Fertilizer Development Center Dr Shamsul Kabir and Dr Shaharuk Ahmed spoke as special guests at the programme.

A total of 35 man and woman of the area took part in the Field Day.

Dr Santosh Chandra Chanda said the production of BRRI-92 is good in Madaripur. The production of BRRI-29 is 6.6 metric ton per hectare while the production of BRRI-92 is 8.5 metric ton per hectare. New improved verities are innovated for better production despite the challenge of the heatwave.
