Food Friendly Programme (FFP) under the Directorate General of Food has started to sell rice at Tk 15 per kg in Sarishabari upazila of Jamaplpur district from Wednesday.
The sale was inaugurated at the house of dealer Saiful Islam in Char-Pogaldigha village under Pogaldigha union in the upazila on Wednesday morning.
Mamun Ar Rashid Fakir, president of Pogaldigha union unit BNP, general secretary Rashedul Islam Ranju, organizing secretary Ahmad Ali Sarker, president of volunteer party Liton Talukdar and others were present at that time.
It was learnt that, each cardholder is given a 30 kg sack of rice from the Sarishabari food warehouse. The sale of rice was inaugurated on Wednesday. Rice will be sold three days a week, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. A total of 518 beneficiaries will be able to purchase 30 kg of rice per month at the rate of 15 taka per kilogram.
