Ferdous Ahmed, a well-known actor, has faced another setback. After losing his position as a Member of Parliament just seven months ago, he has now been dropped from a Tollywood film. The movie, titled ‘Mir Jafar Chapter 2’, is directed by Arkadeep Mallika Nath.
The film's producer, Rana Sarkar, explained the reason behind this decision. He said that Ferdous's silence during the student movement in Bangladesh led to his removal. Rana added that he did not want to cast any Bangladeshi actors or actresses who did not support the anti-discrimination student movement. He mentioned that Ferdous had been unresponsive since January, despite several attempts to reach him.
The movie was officially announced last year, and the actors’ looks were revealed. However, filming has not yet started. When asked if Ferdous was the reason for the delay, Rana Sarkar said that there were many other factors involved. He explained that getting permission to shoot at the Bangladesh-India border was a significant challenge.
Rana also spoke about the future of the movie. He said that the plan was to release the film in both Bangladesh and India, but this might not be possible with the original cast. However, Bangladeshi actor Ziaul Roshan, who was also set to appear in the film, will still be part of the project.
Rana confirmed that they would contact Roshan before shooting begins and include him if he is interested. A replacement for Ferdous will be arranged. The script for ‘Mir Jafar Chapter 2’ focuses on village politics, and the director, Arkadeep, wants to capture the essence of these politics in his debut film.
