Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) president Mahbubul Alam on Monday demanded speedy implementing national single window (NSW) in order to simplifying further import and export operations alongside expediting trade.
The FBCCI president put such emphasis while addressing a workshop virtually on national single window as the chief guest held at the FBCCI Building in Motijheel here.
"The way size of the country's economy is expanding, the issue of implementing national single window is becoming more important. Hopefully, the NBR will implement the national single window within this year taking opinions from all the concerned stakeholders," he said.
Mahbubul said that with the implementation of the national single window, the revenue collection of the revenue board would increase side by side the hassles of the businessmen would reduce.
He also said that the implementation of the national single window would reduce the operating cost of businesses as well as the business-friendly environment would be improved which would eventually expedite trade, business and economy.
The organizers at the workshop informed that the trade portal and trade registration module have already been completed under the national single window while the registration process of the C&F agents would be effective within the next two weeks.
Bangladesh national single window project director ABM Shafiqur Rahman said that so far some 19 agencies have been added to the system while the work on creating national single window portal has been completed which would be unveiled in December.
FBCCI senior vice president Md Amin Helali said that the support and cooperation of the NBR is very much required to strengthen further the private sector.
He opined that the implementation of the national single window would flourish further the country's trade, commerce and economy.
FBCCI directors, general council members, business leaders and senior government officials were present, among others, on the occasion.
