A man and his son died after being electrocuted in Purbadhala upazila of Netrokona district. The incident took place in Jalshuka Kamudganj area of Gohalakanda union of the upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Samar Ali, 60, son of late Ismat Ali of Majipara in Jalshuka Kamudganj area of Gohalakanda union of the upazila and Samar Ali’s son Pappu, 25, a graduate student of political science department of Mymensingh Anandamohan College.
According to local sources, this morning Samar Ali went with his son Pappu to irrigate the fish pond with an electric mortar.
Later, as it was getting late and they did not return to their house, Samar Ali’s wife went to look for them and found them lying on the ground electrocuted.
Later, the locals came and rescued them and were rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared them dead.
Shyamganj police investigation centre in charge Enamul Haque said the bodies were allowed to be buried without an autopsy at the request of the family. An unnatural death case has been registered in this regard.
