An unfortunate father was slaughtered by his son as he (father) wished to get married for the second time. After killing the father in his sleep by slitting his throat, the killer son dumped the dead body inside a septic tank beside the house at Bindarampur village under Damkura police station of Rajshahi city.
In the early morning of Thursday police recovered the dead body of father Sajjad Hossain(65). His son Russel Ali Swapon(32) entered into the room of his father around 12-00 midnight Tuesday and killed him by slaughtering his throat. Police arrested Swapon in connection with the murder.
Mahbub Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Damkura Police station informed, Sajjad Hossain was missing since Tuesday night. Sajdar Rahman, brother of Sajjad, filed a general diary with Damkura PS in this connection. Being suspicious at the unnatural behaviour, police quizzed Russel Ali Swapon, son of Sajjad. During police interrogation, Swapon admitted to killing his father and dumping his dead body inside a septic tank beside his house. He informed, he at first tried to strangle his father to death but failing to do so he slaughtered his throat and killed him. After killing his father, Swapon dumped the dead body of his father inside the septic tank of the toilet beside their house.
Swapon informed the police that his mother died one-year ago. After the death of his mother, his father wished to get a second marriage which enraged Swapon. Moreover, Swapon did not want to share his paternal property to the proposed second wife of his father. As a result, Swapon planned to kill his father and around 12-00 midnight on Tuesday, he entered into the room of his father and killed him by slitting his throat.
Police recovered the dead body from the spot and sent it to the morgue of RMCH for autopsy.
