The Bangladesh Cricket Board's new president, Faruque Ahmed, has announced that the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be the last in its current format. Following significant changes in the country during July and August, various sectors, including the BPL, are set for transformation.

In a recent video message, Faruque Ahmed outlined the new structure for the BPL, emphasizing the BCB's efforts to make this edition distinct from the previous ones. With the formation of a new government, the BCB has planned numerous changes to ensure a unique and successful tournament that will satisfy all cricket enthusiasts.

The upcoming BPL will feature digital perimeter boards, enhancing the viewing experience. The TV production team has been instructed to ensure top-notch quality for both the broadcast and production, including the use of Hawk-Eye and DRS technologies. Efforts are also being made to improve umpiring standards with the inclusion of foreign umpires and to enhance the quality of commentary by bringing in renowned commentators.

Faruque Ahmed addressed the teams, urging them to finalize their foreign players and training schedules promptly. He acknowledged that despite ten editions of the BPL, a perfect foundation has not yet been established. However, he assured that from next year, the BCB will make bigger plans and give the teams more time to prepare.

For the fans, the BCB is moving towards a digital platform to make ticket purchasing more convenient. The BPL will be held across three venues: Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chittagong, with the final round returning to Dhaka. Fans will be able to buy digital tickets through mobile phones and various apps, ensuring a seamless experience.

The chief advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, will play an active role in this BPL. Known for his significant contributions, Dr. Yunus has been involved in major international events, and his ideas will be incorporated into the BPL to enhance its appeal.

Faruque Ahmed also hinted at some new initiatives for the BPL, such as maintaining clean galleries and providing water corners where fans can get water for free. The aim is to create zero-waste zones in the stadiums, ensuring a clean and enjoyable environment for all spectators.
