Amid the extreme heatwave, umbrellas and water pots were distributed among the farmers of different areas of Kalkini Upazila of Madaripur from Madaripur Deputy Commissioner M Marufur Rashid Khan on the occasion of celebration of 252th anniversary of Deputy Commissioner post.
The low-income people are the worst sufferer of the heatwave. To mitigate their sufferings, Kalkini Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Uttam Kumar Das distributed umbrellas and water pots among the farmers and workers in the Upazila on Tuesday.
Locals appreciated the great initiative of the district administration. The day laborers and low-income people expressed their satisfaction and thanked district administration after getting the gifts.
Kalkini UNO Uttam Kumar Das said Madaripur Deputy Commissioner M Marufur Rashid Khan took the initiative considering the sufferings of farmers and workers to mark 252th anniversary of Deputy Commissioner post.
