Faridpur Puja Celebration Parishad inaugurates ‘Swargarath Gari’The Faridpur district branch of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad has inaugurated a vehicle named Swargarath for cremation of Hindus.
Faridpur Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Aslam Mollah and Additional District Magistrate Dipak Kumar Roy inaugurated the car at 10:30 am on Friday at the city's Gaurgopal courtyard.
The guests handed over the keys of Swargarath Gari to the President of Bangladesh Mahanam Sampradaya Kanti Bandhu Brakshachari and the leaders of the District Puja Celebration Parishad.
District Puja Celebration Council co-president Asim Kumar Saha, Tapas Kumar Saha, Tapas Kumar Dutta, joint secretary Shankar Saha, organizing secretary Ajay Kumar Roy, Kotwali Thana committee president Sitangshu Mitra, city committee president Ram Dutt, general secretary Shyamal Kumar Karmakar, district Sanjib Das, Gautam Bhadra, Sumon Kund, Bidhan Saha, Dipankar Dutta and others were present on the occasion.
Gautam Bhadra, convener of the sub-committee for the inauguration of Swargarath, said, "Our Swargarath car was given by Dr. Yashoda Jiban Debnath, President of the District Puja Committee, with his own funds for cremation of the Faridpur Hindu community."
Besides, on the occasion of the inauguration of the car, prasad has been arranged for the devotees at Gaur Gopal Angina at noon by the District Puja Committee, City Committee and Thana Committee.
