Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has unearthed a fake drug factory in Jashore on Friday night seizing huge amount of fake medicines.
RAB personnel conducted a drive at a house at Noapara under Abhaynagar Upazila of Jashore, and seized a huge amount of fake drugs labeled 'Sekno-20mg’. The main accused could not be arrested.
RAB-6 assistant director Surat Alam said that on information, a team of RAB-6 conducted the drive. “At first, a van driver was detained with two cartoons of fake Sekno-20 mg. According to the van driver’s statement, the operation was carried out in a building of Guachola village,” he added.
Surat Alam said, “Sensing the law enforcers’ presence, the dwellers of the house fled the scene. RAB seized two fake medicine producing machines, huge raw materials and empty packets for making counterfeit medicines. The empty packets are marked with ‘Secno-20’.”
Sources said a company, named Life Care, has been selling many gastric ulcer resistant under the brand of Sekno-20 since long.
The officer said that mixing drying leaves of various trees with the chemicals, the factory was used to make and market this medicine.
A case was filed in this connection with the local police station, he added.
