The arrested are the residents of Ukhia No. 1 Camp (W) Block-F/10. Son of Islam. Abdullah (37), son of Musa Khalil of the same area, Abul Khair (18), son of Habib, resident of Block-F/13. Talha (60), his younger brother. Son of Harun (36) and Syed Hossain of Shahpari Dwip Uttarpara of Sabrang Union of Teknaf. Ismail (45).

Kamran Hossain said that on the basis of secret information, it is known that a gang in the said Lambashia (Camp-1W) Rohingya camp has been doing various criminal activities by making fake Bangladesh national identity cards for Rohingyas. In view of this news, 8 APBN Lambashia Camp said. A raid was conducted at the residence of Abdullah (37) and 5 members of the fraud gang were arrested along with a large quantity of fake national identity cards, fake birth registration certificates, fake driving licenses, fake NID making computers, printers, scanners, pen drives, photocopies of national identity cards of various people. During this time, 4 laptops, 8 smartphones, 4 pen drives, 2 printers with scanners, 28 online duplicate birth registration registrations, 11 birth registration information verification, 30 duplicate birth certificates, 20 duplicate NIDs, 200 photocopies of NIDs of various individuals, several Sonali Bank, Islami Bank Check Book and Deposit Book, 5 Seals, 1 Co-operative Society Registration Certificate, 20 Shahpuri Basthara Adarsh Gram Co-operative Society Ltd Membership Forms, 35 Tk Deposit Slips, 8 Rajapalong Union Parishad Trade Licenses, 4 Nationalities with different names including Nationality Certificate Deeds, 5 landless electric bill papers, various types of land deeds and deeds, national deed of city corporation were seized.
He said that the gang has been making a huge amount of money by illegally creating fake Bangladeshi national identity cards, birth registrations and passports for a long time. Common Rohingyas basically accept the citizenship of Bangladesh and pay huge sums of money to the said brokers for getting various government facilities and passports for traveling abroad.
Legal action against them is in process and through detailed investigation it will be possible to identify the people involved in this dishonest cycle and bring them under the law, said this official of 8 APBN.
President of the Rohingya Prevention Committee, Mahbubur Rahman, said that the incident of getting fake Bangladeshi national identity card making equipment from the Rohingya camp has made everyone think that Rohingyas have started this activity to finally become citizens of our country. It is a heinous crime. The government needs to crack down. If not, all the Rohingyas who took refuge at any time will become Bangladeshi citizens and migrate to different countries including the Middle East. And after going there and getting involved in various criminal activities, Bangladesh government has to bear its responsibility.
Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Md. Hasanuzzaman PPM, who has been promoted to the post of Additional DIG in this regard, said that APBN and district police are looking into various crimes in the Rohingya camps. Strict measures are being taken regarding the creation of fake Bangladeshi nationality certificates from inside the camp.
