Guitarist Mahaan Fahim has officially ended his eight-year journey with the popular band Aurthohin. On September 29, Mahaan shared the news in a heartfelt Facebook post, explaining that health problems forced him to make this tough decision.
In April, Mahaan suffered a slipped disc in his cervical spine, which caused severe pain in his left hand. Following his doctor’s advice, he decided to leave the band to focus on his recovery. The doctor advised him to avoid playing the guitar while standing or lifting heavy items, which led to this difficult choice.
However, Mahaan reassured fans that he is not giving up on music entirely. He can still play the guitar while sitting, and he plans to continue creating music in the studio. He also mentioned that he would release new instrumental tracks in the future.
Mahaan performed with Aurthohin for the final time last Saturday at the "Legends of the Decade" concert, alongside bands like Vikings, Conclusion, and Jal. After the performance, Aurthohin's frontman Bassbaba Sumon expressed his deep emotions on Facebook, saying, "Farewell, Mahaan. I couldn't hold back my tears today because of you."
In his farewell message, Mahaan thanked his fans and the band members for their support, including Aurthohin's manager Tito and sound engineer Mithu. Earlier this year, in March 2023, guitarist Shisir Ahmed also left the band, and Jahin Rashid joined later.
Aurthohin continues to perform with Sumon on vocals, Mark Don on drums, and Jahin Rashid on guitar and keyboards, keeping the band’s energy alive.
