Bangladesh International Master (IM) Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh earned a valuable points in the Police Grandmaster Chess Tournament in Dubai forcing two world famous Grand Masters to share points in successive two matches.
Fahad, halted the top seeded Super Grandmaster (GM) Yui Yangyi to snatch a point in the first round on Friday and he compelled US Grandmaster Newman Hans in the second round on Sunday night.
Grandmaster Hans was halt by Bangladesh’s 2431 rating chess player with black pawn. Neumann has become famous in the chess world after defeating the greatest player in the world Magnus Carlsen.
It is a great achievement for Fahad obtaining points from Newman, who defeated the one of the best chess player in the world.
After the outstanding results, now Fahad’s performing ratings is 2705 at the end of the round two.
He has the chance to earn another GM norm if he would get six more points in the nine-round tournament. Three GM norms and 2500 rating points are required to be a Grand Master. Fahad's current rating is 2431.
