The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested five extortionists while transporting extortion in the city's Alangkar area. They were arrested in a raid around 12.30 pm on Wednesday.
Detained- Md Azad (34), Md Ahid (38), Md. Arif Hossain (30), Narayan Dey (51), Md Siddique Hossain (45).
RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Md Nurul Abshar said, "I came to know in secret news that some identified extortionists are extorting money from various transports by showing fear and intimidation." The operation was conducted around 12.30 pm. Sensing the presence of RAB, the extortionists chased and arrested 5 people while trying to flee.

The bodies of the accused were searched and tk 21,820 in cash
was seized. He said the detainees had been extorting money from drivers of covered vans, freight trucks and other transports for a long time.
