Unidentified miscreants allegedly stabbed a former student of Rajshahi University to death on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Shimultola area of Savar, on the outskirts of capital Dhaka, on early Saturday. The deceased was identified as Mostafizur Rahman, 30, son of Mojibur Rahman from Nowapara area of Rajshahi’s Durgapur upazila.
Mostafiz was a former student of RU and used to work as an accounts officer at Glorious International School and College in Savar for the last one year.
Saiful Islam, Inspector of Savar Model Police Station, confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.Locals found the blood-stained body on the road and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police suspected the man might have been victim of stanching since they came to know Mostafiz arrived here from Rajshahi, Inspector Saiful Islam said. When contacted, Zobair Hossain, principle of Glorious School, told the Bangladesh Post, “Mostafiz went to his village on vacation last Wednesday, and he was supposed to join the office work on Saturday.” A case was filed and manhunt was underway, the police official said.
