Former Railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan has been placed on fresh five-day remand in Jatrabari murder case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain passed the remand order on Sunday.
Earlier, investigation officer (IO) Mriganko Shekhar Talukder pleaded for 10-day remand after producing the former minister before a Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court from jail. On the other hand, the defense lawyer submitted a bail application. After hearing, the magistrate passed this order.
On September 16, Nurul Islam Sujan was arrested from Bangladesh Specialized Hospital at Shyamoli in the capital.

On September 1, the victim's mother Kohinoor Akhter filed a murder case naming 298 people, including Sujan.
