Department of Information Studies and Library management in association with East West University (EWU) Library celebrated International Day of Peace 2019 with a series of programme including “Community Feast” on Sunday at EWU faculty lounge.
Students of East West Bidyaniketon also joined the community feast. These allies believe that sharing food together fosters connection, cooperation as well as bring peace. Therefore, these allies arranged Community Feast with the theme of “Sharing Food, Bringing Peace” where participants bring a dish and share it with colleagues as well as students.
An extempore speech competition was organized at the university on this year theme "Climate Action for Peace” among students to make awareness and take needful actions on this issue. A prize giving ceremony was arranged on the same day to award the winners of the extempore speech competition. A Z M Shafiqul Alam, treasurer, Mohammad Eklas Uddin, FCA, director of Finance, Dr Mohamed Ruhul Amin, dean, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Pyari Mohan Mondal, chief, Internal Audit Unit, M Sayeed Alam, assistant professor, Department of Business Administration, Dr Dilara Begum, associate professor and chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management and Librarian (in-charge), EWU and Principal, East West Bidyaniketon were present at the ceremony and handed over the prizes to the winners.
