Event to feed milk to students held in Jhenaidah

It was an uncommon event when the department of livestock had organized an event to feed milk among the students of Jhenaidah government girls’ high school on Monday morning marking the service week of the department. A total of 1,770 girls were provided cow milk at the school premises.

District livestock officer (DLO) Dr Monojit Kumar Sarker presided over the colourful event where deputy commissioner (DC) Manira Begum attended as chief guest. She herself fed the girls during the programme.

Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Ariful Islam, Jhenaidah government girls’ high school headmaster Lakkhi Rani Das and district training officer (DTO) of the department of livestock Subrata Kumar Banarjee attended as special guests. Livestock extension officer in Jhenaidah Sadar Tareq Musa facilitated the programme.

The speakers during feeding the milk among the girls students said regular intake of pure milk might help grow with better health and ensure nutrition. They urged upon all to intake the milk at a regular basis to remove the malnutrition among the children of the country so that they might be grown as healthy citizens.
