A seminar on Japanese education was held at Eastern University (EU) on Wednesday at the university premises.
Professor Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain, vice chancellor (VC) of EU was the chief guest, while Professor Dr Md Ashraf Hossain, director of IQAC of EU was the key panelist in the event. Rizwanul Hoque Chowdhury from Kobe Institute of Computing (KIC) was the keynote speaker.
Being the 3rd largest economy in the world, Japan is now opening up for international students and offering large number of scholarship programs in education and research for foreign students. Speakers stressed that this is the time to get higher studies in Japan for Bangladeshi students as job opportunities are higher compared to other developed countries.
Head of International relations of KIC, Miyamoto Yukinobu joined the session through Skype. KIC has stressed on various academic collaboration and joint research opportunities between EU and KIC.
Treasurer of the university A S Mahmud also attended the programme. Abul Basher Khan, registrar of the university delivered the welcome speech while Salman Haider, director of Career Services and International Office (CSIO) of the university gave the closing remarks.
Deans, chairpersons, professors and students of the university also attended the seminar.
