Due to the increasing demand of LPG in the country and the increase in the price of LPG, all petroleum products worldwide, Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL), the country's only state-owned fuel oil refinery, has increased the LPG production capacity of the company by about 40% compared to the previous one by setting the target and implementing the action plan to increase the LPG production capacity.
In recognition of the achievement of this historical milestone, the Minister of State for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, handed over a special 'Memorial of Honour' and 'Certificate of Honour' to ERL Managing Director Engineer Md Lokman on Tuesday.
Senior Secretary of Energy and Mineral Resources Department Md. Mahbub Hossain, BPC Chairman (Secretary) ABM Azad, Chairman of Petrobangla and senior officials of the Ministry along with managing directors of related companies were present.
ERL MD Engineer Md. Lokman said that the best management, proper guidance, close supervision and sincere cooperation of the Ministry and BPC were the driving force behind this achievement.
He said that the officers and workers of the organization have been able to increase the production capacity of LPG by about 40% by displaying the highest level of professionalism and excellence which is a rare and unique example of engineering excellence, healthy industrial relations and productivity in pleasant working environment.
He thanked all the officials and employees of the Ministry, BPC and ERL Board of Directors for this achievement.
