International Women's Day was celebrated at the office of Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL), the country's only government fuel oil refinery located in Patenga of Chattogram, through various arrangements. This year the theme of Women's Day was 'Digital technology and innovation will eliminate gender discrimination'.
The day is celebrated in various events to prevent violence against women, ensure equal rights of men and women, recognize the work of women as well as celebrate economic, political and social achievements. Like other countries, Bangladesh is also celebrating the day in different ceremonies by various organizations.
On the occasion of International Women's Day, on Thursday morning in the boardroom of Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL), the company's managing director Engineer Md Lokman celebrated 'International Women's Day' by greeting female colleagues with flowers and cutting a cake.
He said that the country is moving forward with the joint work of men and women with the aim of building digital Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's efficient leadership, the women of the country are making important contributions in all workplaces.
