England sealed the three-match ODI series victory with one match left to play after winning the second match by 132 runs against the hosts Tigers on Friday.
Opener Jason Roy notched a century, at the middle Jos Buttler when Moeen Ali and Sam Curran at the late order were very aggressive as England scored a massive 326 runs after being sent to bat first.
Chasing to a formidable target Tigers batters could manage to score 194 runs before being all out in 44.4 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Tamim Iqbal sent England to bat first after having the coin favour but did not have the favoure of the pitch and his bowlers, as England just overpowered the Tigers’ bowling attacks.
Bangladesh had an uphill task to halt the series on 1-1, starting their innings with a huge disaster - three top order batters with the scoreboard reading only nine runs when opener Liton Das gone for one, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mushifiqur Rahim followed him for duck and four runs respectively. Captain, as well as the opener Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hassan struggled a much to rescue the Tigers from the immense trouble, as the in fifth wicket partnership two captains (ODI and T-20) scored 79 runs.
At this stage it seemed that the experienced batters were going to give a stand to score at least a respectable total to reducing the margin of defeat.
But Tamim Iqbal could not go a far when caught by Moeen Ali off Vince for 35 runs and Shakib, who raising the hope to play a big innings left the team on 122 for five when he was out giving the catch to Curran off Adil Rashid at the midwicket region scoring 58 runs.
Adil Rashid and Sam Curran, who shared seven wickets, four and three pieces respectively did the big damage of the Bangladesh inning.
Infact, initially, Curan pegged Bangladesh back with early wickets and pressure from both ends with Adil Rashid, when they breathed fire with the ball in hand. Curran picked up the important wickets including opener Liton Das and one down Nazmu Hossain Shanto for ducks and Mushifiqur Rahim for four runs.
The pressure was sustained throughout Bangladesh's chase when Tamim and Shakib went in for a short interval. On what seemed to surface turned into a tricky, MahmudullahRiyad looked to remain calm with working hard scored 32 runs before being caught by Moeen Ali off Adil Rashid for 32 runs.
Afif Hossain at the middle and Taskin Ahmed at end contributed 23 and 21 runs respectively but their endeavor were not enough to reach at least t0 200 runs mark, as Tigers were bundled out for 194 runs to concede a big defeat of 132 runs.
Earlier Tamim Iqbal, winning the toss, sent Engand to bat first and though made a breakthrough on England’s 25 runs with Taskin Ahmed picking up the opener Phil salt for seven runs and DawidMallan, maker of first match, James Vince for a chief but could not stop the opener Jason Roy.
However, after watching an early breakthrough losing the first wicket on 25, and next two wickets of Mallan and James Vinc, Jason Roy along with Jos Buttler scored 109 runs in 15.3 overs in fourth wicket partnership.
Jason Roy, before being trapped lbw by Shakib Al Hassan, gave the team a solid position of 205 scoring a fabulous 132 off 124 balls hitting 18 boundaries and a six. But it looked Jason Jose Buttler, who was very attacking mood having a solid platform to bring the team too far scored 76 runs featuring five fours and two sixes before being caught and bowled by Mehidy Hassan Miraz.
Moeen Ali coming at number seven was also in a fierce mood to score 42 off 35 balls cracking three fours and two sixes when Sam Currran smashed two boundaries and three over boundaries to score 33 of 19 balls. England finally set the mammoth 327 runs target for Bangladesh to win.
