Every employer all over the country has the responsibility to create employment for the youth after they complete their higher education.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni made the comment while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Golden Jubilee of Independence 2021 organised by Rajshahi University on Friday.
“Our employers complain that the qualifications they want are often not available to job seekers. However, job seekers complain that they are not getting the job according to their qualifications. Teachers need to sit down with the industry to solve this problem. So, the connection must be established between the industry and academia,” said the minister.
She further called upon the students to develop themselves as world citizens by combining knowledge, skills and ethics.
“People need to make themselves worthy to present the history and heritage of Bangladesh in the world stage,” she said.
Earlier, the minister laid a wreath at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Rajshahi University, Bangabandhu Mural and Shaheed Zoha’s mazar and inaugurated the construction work of Deshratna Sheikh Hasina Hall.
Rajshahi University Vice Chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar presided over the function and Rajshahi City Corporation Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton was present as the special guest.
