The District Administration has taken a comprehensive programme in Chandpur to celebrate the Victory Day on 16 December 2023. A district committee and 15 sub-committees were formed to implement the Great Victory Day programme in Chandpur in a meeting held in the Conference Room of the district administration on November 15 with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kamrul Hasan in the chair.
The sub-committees are: District Commissioner Kamrul Hasan convened the district committee. Cannon sub-committee with 10 members with Additional Superintendent of Police as its convener; Wreath sub-committee of 16 members with Nezarat Deputy Collector as convener; 36-member Parade and Gymnastics Exhibition Sub-Committee with Additional Superintendent of Police as convener; It will be followed by – Inviting and Reception, Discussion Sub-Committee, Cultural Sub-Committee, Milad-Mahfil Sub-Committee, Upsana Sub-Committee, Freedom Fighters and Martyrs Family Sub-Committee; Finance Sub-Committee; National Flag Observation Sub-Committee; College Level Sports Sub-Committee; Publicity Sub-Committee; Lighting Sub-Committee; Commentary Sub-Committee; Cultural Sub-Committee; College Students and Women's Sports Committee.
Besides, 32 decisions have been taken to celebrate the Great Victory Day on December 16 with due dignity at the district headquarters of Chandpur.
The programmes are: Documentaries and short films based on the War of Liberation will be screening from December 1 to December 16 at Chandpur Government College Ground and Puran Bazar Madhusudan High School Ground and at important places in all the upazilas of the district. Public Works Department will decorate the main roads and road islands, Shapat Chatwar, Hilsa Chatwar area have been decorated with flags and lighting arrangement.
Shishu Academy organized painting competition, composition, playing of patriotic songs and folk music, announcement of program of great independence and national day by firing 31 times of gunfire at the memorial sculpture of freedom fighter at dawn with the sunrise of the day.
