Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated amid enthusiasm across the country

The holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of the Muslim community, was celebrated across the country on Wednesday with enthusiasm.
In Chattogram, despite incessant rain, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in the port city and elsewhere in the district with due religious fervor and zeal.
A total of 259 Eid prayers including three big ones were held at MA Aziz Stadium and Jamiatul Falah Mosque were held under the auspices of Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) respectively.
A large number of devotees participated in the gatherings and prayed for divine blessing for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country as well for the Muslim Ummah.
Other major Eid congregations were held at Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque, Laldhighi Maidan, Parade Maidan, Masjeed-e-Baitus Sharf at Kadamtali, Pologround Railway Public High School Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh)Dargah Maidan, Metropolitan Police Line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, Baizeed Bostami (Rh) Dargah Mosque.
City Mayor AZM Nasir Uddin, deputy minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former minister Nurul Islam BSC, Divisional Commissioner Abdul Mannan, Chattogram south district Awami League President Muslem Uddin Ahmed, Jatiya Party presidium member President Solyman Alam Shet, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Mohammad Ilias Hossain and Jatiya Party leader Mahmudul Islam Chowdhury offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Jamiatulfalah Mosque.
In Rajshahi, the main Eid jamaat (congregation) of Rajshahi city was held at Hazrat Shah Mukhdum (R) Jame Mosque at 8:00 am. Muhtamim of Jameya Islamia Shahmukhdum Maulana Shahadat Ali conducted the prayers.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Nur-Ur-Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Abdul Kader and senior officials of divisional and district levels offered their Eid prayers at the main Eid jamaat.
The second and third largest ones were held at the Tikapara Eidgah and Shaheb Bazar Zero Point at 8:00 am and 8.30 am respectively.
Thousands of Muslim devotees at the end of Eid jamaats offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Some other big Eid jamaats in the city were held at Rajshahi University, RUET campus, Police Line Parade Ground, Stadium Ground, Shalbagan, Hatemkha, Alif Lam Meem Bhata Eidgah, Mohisbathan Eidgah Math and Upashahar Eidgah Moidan.
Earlier in the morning, streams of people rushed to their nearest eidgahs, mosques and open places to offer the Eid prayers. Around 150 other Eid-ul-Fitr jamaats were held at traditional and temporary venues in the Rajshahi metropolis.
In Rangpur, About 1,020 Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were arranged at Eidgahs, mosques and open grounds in all eight upazilas and three municipalities in the district, said Assistant Director of Islamic Foundation here Md. Shamsul Haque.
The Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP), district police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13, Police Investigation Bureau and other law enforcement and intelligence agencies took adequate measures to ensure peaceful holding of Eid congregations.
Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) with assistance of the district administration and other authorities concerned prepared the Central Collectorate Eidgah and decorated the main streets with colourful flags bearing inscriptions ‘Eid Mubarak’ in the city.
The main Eid-ul-Fitr congregation was held at the Central Collectorate Eidgah at 8.30 am with participations of thousands of devotees. Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Habib and others participated in the main congregation.
Like in the previous years, the biggest Eid-ul-Fitr congregation of the district was held at Taluk Habu Eidgah Maidan under Gangachara upazila.
In Rangpur city, the other bigger Eid congregations were held at Keramotia Jam-e-Mosque, Kamal Kachhna Jam-e-Mosque, Nasirabad Ekramia Jam-e-Mosque, Mahiganj Afan Ullah Jam-e-Mosque, Mahiganj College Mosque, Satmatha Jam-e-Mosque, Munshipara Eidgah, Central Bus Terminal Jam-e-Mosque, RCCI School and College ground, Jummapara Eidgah, Shalbon Mistripara Eidgah, Medical College ground, Pakar Matha Jam-e-Mosque, Bahar Kachhna Jam-e-Mosque, Damodarpur Baro Eidgah, Khasbag Angur Mian Jam-e-Mosque, Alamnagar Wakf Mosque, Dhap Mohammadpur Jam-e-Mosque between 8:00 am and 9:30 am.
Outside the city, bigger Eid congregations were held at Badarganj Central Eidgah, Badarganj Chandamari Keramotia Jam-e Mosque, Pirgachha Karbala Eidgah, Pirgachha JN High School, Pirgachha Ahle Hadith Mosque, Kawnia Central Eidgah, Mithapukur Central Eidgah, Taraganj Chowpathi Eidgah and Pirganj Central Eidgah between 8:30 am and 10:30 am.
In Gaibandha, the main Eid Congregation was held at Central Eidgah Maidan, adjacent to Shah Abdul Hamid Stadium of the district town at 9:00 am at the initiative of the district administration.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdul Matin, Gaibandha municipality mayor Advocate Shah Masud Zahanagir Kabir Milon, district level officials including, leaders of the political parties, elite of the town, professionals and the journalists joined the congregation spontaneously.
Mowlana Mufti Mahmudul Hasan, Khatib of Bara Masjid of the district town, conducted the Eid prayers.
Earlier, DC M. Abdul Matin received the devotees and exchanged Eid greetings with them at the gate of the Eidga Maidan on behalf of the district administration.
Another big Eid Jamaat was also held at Police Lines Jame Mosque where superintendent of police (SP) Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah received the Musullis.
The other Eid Jamaats were also held on the premises of Khanka Sharif Jame Mosque, Gausul Azam Jame Mosque, Al- Falah Jame Mosque, PWD Jame Mosque, Fakirpara Jame Mosque, Circuit House Jame Mosque, Palashpara Jame Mosque, David Companypara Jame Mosque, Tabligue Jamaat Markas Jame Mosque, Gorosthanpara Jame Mosque, Dhanghara Jame Mosque and Station Jame Mosque of the district town.
In Dinajpur, The largest Eid congregation in the country was held at Gor-e-Shahid Maidan in the district. About six lakh people joined the Eid jamaat, reports our Dinajpur Correspondent.
Maulana Shamsul Al-Kasemi led the Eid prayers. The Muslim devotees from Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari and Gaibandha districts of neighboring areas participated in the Eid jamaat.
Is was the 5th Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at Gor-e-Shahid Maidan which was held at 8:45am.
Iqbalur Rahim MP said that the Eid jamaat was held smoothly as the weather was good and there was no rain unlike other parts of the country.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim, Iqbalur Rahim, Dinajpur Zilla Parishad chairman Azizul Imam Chowdhury, DC Mahmudul Alam and SP Syed Abu Sayem, among others, took part in the biggest Eid jamaat.
Speaking on the occasion, Iqbalur Rahim, an organiser, thanked the devotees for their participation in the congregation and expressed gratitude to prime minister Sheikh Hasina for her cooperation to establish the Gor-e-Shahid Baro Maidan in the district.
