Amid the second wave of Corona Pandemic, a rush of people in Kishoreganj town is mounting up to top gear as the festival approaches. A sense of enthusiasm has been generated among the Muslims especially the children, young people and girls as their greatest religious festival is drawing nearer and they have started taking preparations including completing Eid shopping to celebrate the festival with pomp and gaiety. At this time there is no harm in following the hygiene rules and wearing a mask.
According to market and local observers, Eid shopping in all markets, shopping malls, complexes and makeshift wayside markets mark huge sales amid tight security measures here. Meanwhile, shopping centers and super markets in the district town have been swamped with different ready-made garments and colourful dresses with latest designs including Salwar Kamiz, three pieces, pants, shirts, Panjabies and Sarees to draw the attention of the customers.
While visiting different markets and shopping centers, this many customers inform that correspondent found that a large numbers of customers and adolescents and women are thronging the markets and shops for buying their desired cloths including other Eid items.
Talking to the correspondent, many customers informed that despite adequate supply of the Eid-items, the etail prices of different dresses comprising homemade or imported are higher than the previous year which is not affordable for low and middle class income group. Local trades, however, denied the reports about charging higprices of the Eid-items.
