Sarah Begum Kabori, a beloved Dhaliwood actress known for her charming roles and contributions to Bangladeshi cinema, will soon be remembered through her final film, Ei Tumi Sei Tumi. Although she passed away too soon, her final project is finally getting close to its much-anticipated release.
Kabori's son, Shaker Chishti, has confirmed that the film, which was both directed and partly written by the late actress, is on track for release. Chishti shared with the media that his mother was tirelessly working on the project during the COVID-19 pandemic, continuing to shoot without taking breaks. Tragically, Kabori passed away on April 16, 2021, with just two days of filming left. The film, therefore, stands as a testament to her dedication and final wish.
Chishti explained that although there were delays due to various complications, he has diligently worked to complete the film. "I faced several challenges in starting the final work on this movie," he said. "However, I have managed to arrange and finalise all the necessary work, and we are now nearly done."
‘Ei Tumi Sei Tumi’ showcases Kabori's multifaceted talent as she wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues for the film. The movie explores two distinct periods: the present day and the revered era of the Great War of Liberation.
The film stars Nishat Nawar Salwa and Riyad Raihan in pivotal roles. In addition to her directorial and acting roles, Kabori also composed music for the movie, further showcasing her artistic versatility. The soundtrack includes a special song penned by Kabori, performed by popular singers Imran and Konal, and features music direction by the renowned Sabina Yasmin.
Chishti has announced plans to release the film in theatres during the upcoming Ramadan Eid, ensuring that Kabori's final work will reach her fans and a wider audience in a fitting tribute to her remarkable career.
