Two egg traders were fined Tk 10,000 by Faridpur district Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection under the Consumer Rights Protection Act for not having a price list, not having a sales voucher and for selling eggs in high prices at Chawkbazar in Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Thursday.
Both Ekota Traders and Mitali Traders were fined Tk 5,000 each.
The purchase price of each egg of Kazi Farms is Tk 9.61. However, they are selling it at Tk 11.5 to Tk 12 at consumer level.
They were instructed to sell them at fair price according to the Agricultural Marketing Act.
This drive was conducted by Sohel Sheikh, Assistant Director of Faridpur Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection.
