The closed educational institutions will be reopened soon, said Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.
She made the remarks while exchanging views with district and city Awami League leaders at the Sylhet Circuit House auditorium on Friday.
"The number of coronavirus infections is declining by the day. It is hoped that all the educational institutions of the country will be reopened very soon,” she said.
The government is trying its best to solve the problem of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). Students have rights as well as responsibilities. The problem created at SUST is not very big. With the cooperation of all, it will be solved with the considerate students, political leaders and those concerned. All problems can be solved through negotiations, she added. The current government is education friendly. The government is very sincere in promoting education in the country. The government wants every educational institution and university in the country to have good and meritorious students, she added.
The education minister said, "I have come to Sylhet on a few matters. Development work is being done in a few educational institutions. We were also invited by the students of SUST in Sylhet and we have responded to their invitation."
MP of Sylhet-3 constituency Habibur Rahman Habib, acting president of Sylhet District Awami League Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, General Secretary Nasir Uddin Khan, president of Mahanagar Awami League Masuk Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Prof Zakir Hossain and other leaders were present during this time.
