The Ministry of Education has announced an increase in grant allocations for private educational institutions, teachers, staff, and students at the secondary level. Starting from 2025, the grant for secondary-level institutions will rise to 70 percent, up from the previous 60 percent. This increase aims to provide stronger support for secondary education across the country.
According to the revised policy published by the Ministry, the interim government has made several changes in the grant distribution. Lower secondary schools and similar institutions will now receive 10 percent of the total allocation, while secondary schools and other similar educational institutions will receive the highest share of 70 percent.
On the other hand, the allocation for schools and colleges, higher secondary colleges, and degree colleges has been reduced to 20 percent, down from the previous 30 percent. This shift has allowed more resources to be directed towards secondary-level education.
The changes are expected to have a positive impact on the quality of education, providing better resources and support for teachers, staff, and students at the secondary level. This policy aims to enhance educational infrastructure and improve facilities for students, ensuring a better learning environment. The government’s decision to focus on secondary education as a key area for development reflects its commitment to improving the overall education system in Bangladesh. These changes are likely to benefit both the institutions and the communities they serve, helping to create a stronger foundation for the future.
