Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury disclosed that the enrollment process for educational institutions seeking Monthly Pay Order (MPO) is now conducted digitally through automation. He shared this development during the National Parliament session on Sunday, responding to a query raised by Morshed Alam.
Chowdhury elaborated that the enrollment of MPOs is based on various criteria such as student numbers, pass rates, and required qualifications, as outlined in the MPO policy-2021 and the private educational institution's workforce structure. He emphasized that this enrollment is a continuous process and is presently being streamlined digitally through automation.
Furthermore, the minister clarified that educational institutions under the jurisdiction of the secondary and higher education department are periodically notified for inclusion in the MPO list.
In addition, responding to MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury's inquiry, Chowdhury informed that the current Annual Development Program (ADP) incorporates 58 projects under the secondary and higher education department.
This transition to digital automation marks a significant step towards efficiency and transparency in the MPO enrollment process, ensuring better management and accountability in the education sector.
