A student of Eden Mohila College, who was wounded after falling from a motorcycle at Bijoy Sarani in the capital on November 30, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Aklima Akter, 25, daughter of Abul Kalam of Sundarpur village in Chatkhil in Noakhali. She used to live at Kazipara area in the city with her family.
She died around 6:00am while she was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Aklima sustained serious injuries after she fell from an Uber motorbike at about 7:30am on Saturday, said her father Abul Kalam adding that Akliam was taken to a local private hospital. Later, she was later shifted to DMCH, he said.
“Aklima taught at a coaching centre at Farmgate. She rode on the bike for going to the coaching centre. It stopped at a signal at Bijay Sarani. She fell down on the ground when the bike started again following another signal. Her helmet broke, but apparently she had no injury marks,” said Abul Kalam said.
Aklima's body was kept at the DMCH morgue. The victim's family will not file any case over the death as they wanted her body to be buried without an autopsy.
