North South University (NSU) Young Economists’ Forum (YEF) organized a competition on Business Consultancy at the institute’s premise on Tuesday.
YEF is the pioneer of the academic club in the university since 1998, standing upon the innumerable and outstanding contributions of all its alumni, members, and the faculty members of the Economics Department.
Econsilium was constructed to improve the quality of strategic planning of undergraduate students who came from diverse universities and acted as the consultants of their given tasks at hand. It was presented by Rongdhanu Group and powered by Brilliant.

Farzana Chowdhury, managing director and CEO, Green Delta Insurance Company Ltd served as the chief judge of the seminar while Ishtiaque Bin Masud, Modern Trade manager, British American Tobacco (BAT), Rezaul Kabir, CIO, Inter Cloud Ltd, Shahmeem Raihan Uddin, chief executive and consultant, Eshna Consulting Ltd and Eshna Management Service, BelalChowdhury, director, FM Consulting International and Omar Nasif Abdullah, assistant proctor, lecturer, NSU obliged as the judges of the competition.
The workshop was conducted on the 8th of this month. An interactive session was maneuvered by the keynote speaker Khaled Saifullah, project manager, Bangladesh Youth Leadership (BYLC), where the teams were mentored and given impromptu cases to find the possible solutions.
The first round was carried out in an online manner and comprised of 432 teams, of which 36 teams made it to the second round (ConsulTalk) on 12 April.
The Grand Finale consisted of 6 teams, namely Shazam (IBA, Jahangirnagar University), Blank Balance (Bangladesh of University Professionals (BUP)), Team Shurid and Team Uproar (IBA, DU), FLB (DU) and Team Champions (NSU).
As FLB ensured the second-runners up position, Team Uproar secured the first, and Team Champions earned the winners’ title and the prize money of BDT 1 lakh. Faculty Advisor to the club, Azreen Benazir Abdullah, was also present in the ceremony.
