Five projects in Chattogram have been approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC). These 4 are in the road sector of South Chattogram.
The projects are – Chattogram Cox's Bazar Highway Improvement Project, Anwara Upazila Link Road and Karnaphuli Tunnel Link Road Improvement Project to Rice Lane, Chatturi-CUFL-Karnaphuli Drydock-Fakirhat National Highway Upgradation Project, Chattogram-Dohazari Meter Gauge Railway to Dual Gauge Railway Project and Maheshkhali Economic Zone- Gas, electricity and communication infrastructure construction projects-3.
This approval was given in the meeting held at the NEC conference room in Sherbangla Nagar of the capital on Tuesday. It was presided over by Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina. After the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam briefed the journalists.
Planning Secretary Satyajit Karmakar, Physical Infrastructure Department Member (Secretary) Dr. Mohammad Emdadullah Mian, Agriculture, Water and Rural Institutions Department Member (Secretary) AKM Fazlul Haque and Statistics and Information Management Department Secretary Dr. Shahnaz Arefin were present.
