The Election Commission has decided to impose restrictions on entry into the organization’s building following the incident of arson attack on five vehicles of the EC during student uprising.
The decision came from a monthly coordination meeting held recently.
The officials said that the emergency exit of the election building should be kept smooth. Besides, it is necessary to ensure that no visitor can enter the election building without proper entry.
EC Secretary Shafiul Azim directed the service wing of the organization to confirm the matter after the meeting.
Officials said that new circulars have been issued with the approval of the commission on the recommendations already made in the matter of voter registration and issuance of national identity cards in Chittagong region. Measures should be taken to inform the people of the concerned constituency.
Apart from this, measures should be taken to ensure that NID services are free from brokers and that people get proper services. It is necessary to inform everyone about the activities of the Election Commission by maintaining good relations with public representatives and journalists along with maintaining communication and coordination with the officials of other departments at the district and upazila levels.
