The Election Commission (EC) has directed the field officers to resume voter transfer process and National Identity Card (NID) address transfer process in upazilas due to various elections.
Senior Assistant Secretary Nasir Uddin Chowdhury of the EC sent the direction to the field officials on Wednesday.
The directive stated that on the occasion of the Sixth Upazila Parishad General Election, the field level voter transfer process for the finalization of the polling stations and finalization of the voter list was directed to be stopped on April 1 through a letter.
The Election Commission has approved the implementation of voter transfer programme at the field level in the upazila/ police station concerned, including the general elections of the eight upazila parishads that have been postponed.
In the described situation, the general election of the eight upazila parishads, including the other postponed elections, are requested to complete the voter transfer process as soon as possible if the application for transfer of voters to the
respective upazila/ police station is correct
