Ebadat Hossain, one of the speed stars of Bangladesh pace squad is under threat to miss the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2024 as he is under process of recovering his knee surgery was performed in last August.
Ebadat Hossain, the right hand pacer was ruled out from the Asia Cup and the World Cup after having injury, as he had to go for surgery.
Ebadot, will not able to play in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) cricket and T-20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and USA from June 4-30 in 2024. Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu confirmed this while talking to the media on Tuesday.
Nannu, former national captain said, “Ebadat Hossain, who is famous as the ‘Sylhet Rocket’ may be return to the field at least August next year.”
“Probably Ebadot has no chance to return before next season. There is a possibility for Ebadot to play in domestic cricket in August-September in 2024,” Nannu said.
Ebadat left the field during the second ODI against Afghan in last July when his right hand hit the shoulder of umpire Gazi Sohel while jumping to deliver the third ball of the 42nd over of Afghan innings.
And after hitting the umpire he could not control his run-up, as trying to turn back fell on the ground and had injury on his leg.
At the initial stage it was thought that he would miss the Asia Cup but later on, after some diagnosis tests it was identified that he would go for surgery and that caused him to stay out of the field for a long time for rehabilitation after the operation.
