An easy-bike driver was allegedly beaten to death by a motorcyclist in a remote village under bordering Moheshpur police station in Jhenaidah district on Friday night.
A trifling matter over parking of a motorbike on the road had allegedly ignited the incident at Keshabpur village in Moheshpur upazila at about 8.00 pm, said the locals.
The deceased was identified as Fazizur Rahman, 40, son of late Abdus Satter of Chapatala village in Moheshpur. The police sent the body of Hafizur Rahman to Jhenaidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination.
Moheshpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam when contacted said Hafizur Rahman was returning home with his three-wheeler easy-bike from nearest Dattanager Bazer. At aboaut 8.00 pm when he arrived near Keshabpur village of the upazila, he suddenly hit a motorbike parked on the road.
After an altercation, owner of the motorbike Khalid Hasan invited some others and started beating up Hafizur Rahman. The attackers left the place immediately after the incident.
