An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude jolted some parts of Bangladesh and India on Friday, said a primary report of United States Geological Survey.
The epicentre of the quake was 16.5-km below the ground from 64-km northeast of Bomdila, a township of Arunachal Pradesh in India.
The epicentre is 499 kilometres on the northeast of Bangladesh Meteorological Department office in Dhaka and 325 kilometres from Sylhet.
Md Mominul Islam acting officer-in-charge of earthquake observation and research centre told that the mild earthquake was felt in Dhaka at 3:22pm.
