Following the expatriate-friendly policies of the government, the e-passport service launching programme was held at the Bangladesh Embassy in Bhutan.
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Bhutan Shib Nath Roy inaugurated the e-passport programme at a meeting held on the embassy premises on Thursday. During this inauguration, the ambassador said that the e-passport service has been launched for the expatriates living in Bhutan in order to fulfill the promise of Prime Minister to deliver services to the doorsteps of the expatriates.
Hopefully, as a result of this, providing services to expatriates will be improved and easier, and on the other hand, the technological capabilities of Bangladesh will be revealed around the world through the use of e-passport.He thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Security Services of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Directorate of Immigration and Passports for starting this programme.
Deputy Project Director of E-Passport Programme Lt. Col. Md. Shafiul Moznabin and Deputy Secretary of Security Services Department Abida Afsari also spoke on the occasion.
