The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has officially launched e-passport services for Bangladeshi expatriates in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone for the community.
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by SM Rakibullah, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy, alongside officials and the technical team from the e-passport project in Dhaka, according to a message received on Saturday.
The event, held at the Embassy auditorium, drew a large crowd, including expatriate dignitaries, professionals, media representatives, and a substantial number of Bangladeshis residing in Saudi Arabia, all of whom attended with great enthusiasm.
During the ceremony, Major Sumiriar Sadeekin, Assistant Project Director of the e-passport initiative, provided attendees with detailed information on how to apply for an e-passport, both in Bangladesh and at Bangladesh embassies abroad.
Following the presentation, the technical team addressed a range of questions from expatriates regarding the new e-passport system, ensuring clarity on the process and its benefits.
