At the meeting of the Executive Council of e-CAB on September 28, it was decided to suspend the membership of the organizations.
Earlier, on August 18, the membership of four organizations was suspended. e-CAB has recently suspended the membership of eight organizations on various allegations based on complaints and surveillance.
On August 28, 2021, e-CAB formed an 11-member Compliance Advisory Committee to take a decision on the other accused organizations. The committee recommended suspension of membership of the accused organizations.
The complaints against Evaly include not resolving the problems of the buyers even after taking a long time, not providing required information to the e-CAB, not fully complying with the Digital Commerce Guideline-2021 and not taking satisfactory steps to pay the debts of the buyers and sellers. The membership of the organization has been suspended considering the debt of the customers.
Membership of Dhamaka Shopping has been suspended for alleged non-return of goods or prices to buyers after several months of shopping, failure to announce specific dates for resolving complaints from buyers and suppliers, failure to take any visible steps to pay the debts of buyers and sellers, and for shutting down business for an indefinite period of time.
The membership of Sirajganj Shop has been suspended on various charges including non-response to e-CAB letters, non-response to complaints and non-compliance with Digital Commerce Guideline-2021, and non-refund of customer's money.
Glitter's RST World has been accused of engaging in illegal MLM business in the name of e-commerce. The membership of the organization has been suspended after getting initial proof of the allegation.
The companies have been asked to submit a report within 30 days after settling the dues of buyers and merchants, implementation of guidelines and other complaints. Otherwise the membership of the organizations may be canceled considering the analysis of the complaint and the situation.
