In Pabna’s Chatmohor Upazila Parishad election, Mirza Rezaul Karim Dulal, Saidul Islam and Firzoa Parvin were elected unofficially as Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Female Vice-Chairman respectively.
Chatmohor Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Assistant Returning Officer Md Reduanul Halim announced the result on Tuesday night at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
Mirza Rezaul Karim was elected Chairman getting 39,334 votes with ‘pineapple’ electoral symbol. His only opponent Saidul Islam Chowdhury, with ‘horse’ symbol, got 5,162 votes. Saidul Islam got 25,022 votes and was elected as Vice-Chairman with ‘tube well’ symbol.
His closest opponent Asaduzzaman got 12,763 votes. The post of Female Vice-Chairman was secured by lecturer Firoza Parvin with 19,719 votes. Her electoral symbol was ‘football’. Her closest opponent Sabina Yasmin got 18,414 vote.
