DU VC urges students to respect parents

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman stressed the need for strengthening family ties. He said students must have respect for their parents to become complete human being.

The VC was addressing as chief guest the orientation programme of 1st year Honours students of different departments under the Faculty of Social Sciences of DU on Tuesday at TSC auditorium. Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office of DU organised the programme.

Director of Students’ Counseling and Guidance Office Professor Dr Mahjabeen Haque presided over the programme while Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Dr Sadeka Halim addressed it as special guest. Chairmen and Students Advisors of different departments were present on this occasion.

Professor Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to prepare themselves with the combination of merit, truthfulness, simplicity, patriotism and honesty. They have to attain analytical quality to choose the right things in their life, the VC added.
