Dhaka University's Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) department celebrated its 14th founding anniversary on Monday on the campus with amid enthusiasm and festivity.
Vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the celebration programme as the chief guest through cutting a cake and releasing balloons, said a DU press release.

Later a colourful rally was brought out in the premises of university's faculty of business studies, led by department's chairman Dr Santus Kumar Deb. While addressing, Akhtaruzzaman conveyed his best wishes to the teachers and students of the department on this occasion.
The VC said the country's tourism industry needs to be further developed through the adoption of mutual cooperation programs between the THM department and concerned organizations.
Calling upon the students to grow up as an efficient human resource with an inclusive mind, he said the teachers and students of the department have to work to bring out new and innovative strategies for the sector.
