A special convocation of Dhaka University (DU) will be held in October. The decision was taken in a meeting of the university syndicate held on Sunday with the Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.
The convocation will be held on any convenient day of October in the central playground of the university, said a DU press release.
In the convocation, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be awarded the honorary degree of 'Doctor of Laws' (posthumously).
It has been decided to invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the convocation speaker.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin, also Chancellor of the university, is expected to preside over the convocation ceremony.
